Well, I just had a chat with Matt and there's some good news on the horizon regarding Self music.  I'll wait and let him make the official announcement when he has more details (whenever that may be).

But you'll all be happy....

Also, he sent me the two new tracks that he played during the interview (Monogamy and Orchid) with permission to post them.

I'm at work now, but I'll get them up this evening....

this is indeed WONDERFUL news!!  i'm just excited knowing he okay'd the posting of the two new tracks!!!  i can't imagine the additional excitement of whatever else matt has up his sleeve!!!

Wow, I just checked the board a few hours ago and there was minimal changes, and it's suddenly EXPLODED.


Couldn't have said it better myself.  If these 2 new tracks are not the really big news, I'm dying to see what is.

Super Fake Nice? I like it, even if won't be titled as such. If the release date on his MySpace is even close to being around the time this new album hits streets, than I'll cream myself. These songs are great, by the way. Love "Monogamy". They're both wonderful. Made my week.

Yeah, SFN may be a new acronym we'll all come to know & love very soon.  It definitely would reflect some of the frustrations Matt has recently vocalized here on the board, so it fits well.

And while his myspace page lists it as 1/1/09, I think that's what it defaults to when all you enter is a year when posting tracks.  If you look at all of the other songs in his player, they're all dated 1/1/XX.  Just food for thought.  But the prospect of a 2009 release is good enough for me.

Not to mention, these are great songs.  I'm lovin' em'!!
