I'm definitely digging Monogamy but both are great.  The solo in Orchid is right up there too and is currently viral in my head.

So did we ever get a confirmation on what we suspect the good news is?  Or are we assuming at this point based on the dates, and the two new songs, and the reply from Matt to the open letter?

I'm not at liberty to say at this point.  Maybe I shouldn't have said anything because it fuels speculation and then there's lots of hype that flies around.  But I just wanted people to know that there's activity in the Self world.

And hey, two new songs is not something to sneeze at.

No, definitely... I wouldn't ask you to betray any confidence, I was just curious about it.  Any news is good news and I'm sure that I can speak for everyone here when I say thank you for sharing.  As for the speculation... I'm totally speculating that I am stoked to hear that he's making music for him.  That's the most powerful way to create, and I for one am really looking forward to hearing (buying? ...was it too soon?) a new, polished Self album.

This just totally made my Sunday. A lot of people are probably asking this, but with all that Matt is currently up to, is he still going to have a chance to put together any kind of tour? Chicago is ready for some new, good music to come to town.

boy...long time since I last logged in and so stoked to come across this "new album" news...anyone know what the story is with a label for this "release"? Or is Matt planning on SELF-releasing this, somehow?
