"orchid" ain't bad at all — kinda reminds me of HBS — but i'm really taking a liking to "monogamy." i know they're both roughs, but this one feels a little more finished. i'm getting a kind of O&C vibe from this, albeit what O&C might've sounded like if matt had more of a say in the mix — nahmean?

loving it, LOVING it.  Grin

I really like Orchid a lot more than Monogamy at this point. Its the kind of ABSTRACT POP that i've been missing.

Monogamy is definitely my favorite of the two right now... both tunes have got me itchin' for a new proper SeLF album though!

now matt says these are the first two songs he's written for SFN. does that mean "sucked out the center" is out of the running?

not necessarily a bad thing since we have it already (unless he spiffs it up a little), but that's one freakin' awesome song. probably my favorite of the post-PM&G self songs thus far actually, that bridge is unbelievable.

"Orchid" reminds me of one of the shorter songs on PMG.  I like both songs, but "Monogamy" really stands out.

Monogamy is far better in my opinion, with a really unique sound. I can definitely hear how it was influenced by the Xanadu theme song, but it's an amazing song in its own right as well. Orchid strikes me as not doing a whole lot or going much of anywhere, but it's a decent track in its own right, and it's growing on me. Can't wait to here more.

Oh, I was wondering/hoping that Sucked Out would make it onto a new album, myself.  But you have a good point.

MY SOTC mix was a mashup of SOTC and Prodigy's "Baby's Got A Temper" ... which, oddly, was a single made for the "next Prodigy album" only to be scrapped and left off the reworked album concept.

Maybe I was the one that doomed SOTC to the same fate.   Embarrassed
